The Biden Administration temporarily paused making decisions on authorization requests from companies that plan to build LNG export terminals, that it hadn't decided on before January 26th, that would permit them to export LNG to countries that are not part of the freetrade agreement.

Many reporters and communication specialists describe this action incorrectly by asserting the Biden Administration paused LNG exports.

To set the record straight, I documented giant ships equipped to transport LNG docked at the three LNG export terminals operating on Louisiana's Southwest coast and construction sites of LNG export terminals in the same area.

Regardless of the administration's pause on decisions related to proposed LNG export terminals ability to export LNG to countries that are not part of the free trade agreement, LNG exports are poised to increase exponentially. As additional LNG export facilities (permitted and authorized to export LNG globally before the pause) start operations, methane emissions associated with LNG exports will increase exponentially too.
